The Nerd Machine raised $140,000 for Operation Smile through its Conversations for a Cause program this year at Nerd HQ during San Diego Comic-Con 2012. A full 100% of that money is going to the charity.

Hollywood actor Zachary Levi, best known for playing the title role in NBC’s hit TV series, “Chuck,” talks about how Nerd HQ has grown in popularity since it debuted at last year’s Comic-Con in the exclusive video interview below.

Levi, along with partner David Coleman, was able to assemble an all-star line-up of Hollywood actors, directors and producers to entice fans over to the brand new, and much larger, venue at Block No. 16 Union and Spirits. The venue offered over 15,000 square feet of gaming, technology, and entertainment for visitors to enjoy.

Nerd HQ, the brainchild of Nerd Machine founders Levi and Coleman, worked with partners like Break Media, Xbox, Vizio and Best Buy to allow fans – including those who couldn’t get into the San Diego Convention Center a few blocks away – a chance to get up close and personal with Hollywood creatives.

Xbox filled the event with 40 Xbox 360 gaming stations featuring an assortment of new games, including Square Enix’ Hitman: Absolution, Sleeping Dogs and the first playable demo of Tomb Raider. Vizio had new laptops, tablets, and PCs for fans to demo.
